This was a case where an applicant chose to pursue his application for permission to appeal 34 years after the event.
The Single Judge had found no adequate explanation for the decision not to appeal sooner. In any event the grounds had been considered and were found to be entirely without merit.
The Full Court had little trouble in agreeing with the Single Judge and it is clear that if an extraordinary extension is sought there better be some very good reasons or compelling fresh evidence for the Court to consider.
